BATES COUNTY E-RECORDING-SIMPLIFILE

Bates County has started e-recording with Simplifile, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing e-recording network, enabling customers to quickly and cost-effectively submit electronic land documents such as deeds and mortgages to the county.
“I am very excited to be able to offer e-recording to Bates County,” said Bates County Recorder Lucille Mundey. “I first heard about e-recording several years ago and did not think it was something I would be interested in obtaining. Over the years, e-recording has been perfected and I feel it is time for Bates County to join this new technology.”
Simplifile’s e-recording service allows customers to scan, upload and submit electronic versions of original documents to the county where they are reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the submitter usually within minutes.
“This is a service that will provide almost instant recording, and timing is very important when dealing with real estate transactions,” Mundey said.
Without e-recording, the process is much more time-consuming as documents are submitted by mail or courier service, or delivered in person to the recorder’s office, where they must then return the documents back to the customer by mail.
“Simplifile is a service that helps both the county and its submitters operate more efficiently by saving them time and money,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It is very simple service that can have a major impact on their bottom line, reducing paper waste, mail costs, employee travel time, fuel, and other unnecessary overhead that comes the traditional, paper document recording.”
Bates County is the 38th Missouri county to join Simplifile’s e-recording network and move toward a more paperless work environment.
Simplifile provides free training and 24/7 customer support. For more information about e-recording call 800-460-5657 or visit simplifile.com.
