Chance for Severe Weather this evening

There is another chance for severe thunderstorms this afternoon through this evening across the area as a cold front slowly advances into northwestern Missouri. Thunderstorms should develop by the afternoon ahead of the front generally along the I-35 corridor with storms building east through the late afternoon and evening. The good news is that the overall risk of severe weather, and particularly tornadoes, is lower today. But any storms that do develop will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. While the risk of tornadoes is lower, they still cannot be ruled out.

Additional thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday, with the greatest threat of severe storms east of a Kirksville to Clinton, Missouri line.

Quieter, more comfortable weather should move in by mid
week with additional chances for storms Friday and Saturday.
