On Wednesday, May 15, Kimberly Polk, the Missouri State Representative for the American Board, will be hosting two informational sessions at the Butler Public Library to discuss the American Board teacher certification program and take any questions people may have about the program.
The American Board is a nonprofit education that works with communities to recruit and certify local representatives to become highly-qualified teachers by using their online teacher certification program.
The American Board is authorized to certify Missouri educators in the following subject areas: Biology, Chemistry, General Science, Physics, Mathematics, English Language Arts, and History.
Those who hold a Bachelor’s Degree, and wish to become a certified teacher, are encouraged by the American Board to attend one of these informational sessions to find out how they can be running their own classroom within a year for less than the cost of a college course and without having to go back to school.
For those who attend the program there is a special program discount. It is recommended that those wishing to attend register in advance as there is limited space available.
Questions about registration and enrollment can be emailed to Kimberly Polk, kpolk@americanboard.org, or call 816-866-7452. These informational sessions will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at 3:30 and 4:30pm at the Butler Public Library, 100 W. Atkison in Butler.
