Severe Weather Outbreak Possible

Please help us spread the news about the potential for severe storms on Sunday and Monday and make sure you have an action plan prepared in the event you are in the path of a severe or tornadic storm.

Here is the updated 1230pm severe weather outlook for Sunday into Monday. Generally only slight changes to the ongoing forecast, with a SLIGHT risk of storms now extending east and southeast. There remains a large area under a MODERATE risk of severe weather.

Scattered storms are expected to form over western Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska later this afternoon and begin to move eastward. We will likely have the remnants of these thunderstorms in our area late tonight and early Sunday morning. A few of these storms could be stronger with large hail the primary threats. Depending on how conditions evolve through the day, thunderstorm redevelopment will begin in the afternoon and overspread the region during the evening and overnight hours.
