Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County EMS responded to a 1 vehicle accident yesterday around 9:25am. The accident occurred when the 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Francis O. Schoonover 73, of Lowry City was traveling West bound on East 52 Highway and County Road 5295 when she lost control of her vehicle crossed the center line, went off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, stop sign, and struck a fence comming to rest tangled in a fence on County Road 5295. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Cross Tow of Appleton City. Schoonover was wearing a seatbelt and recieved moderate injuries. She was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
