Kenneth Eldred, 86, of rural Windsor, Missouri, died Monday morning, June 10, 2013.
He was born September 3, 1926 in Mack’s Creek, Mo., the son of Lloyd Adolphis Eldred and Omah Eloise (Elliott) Eldred. On October 20, 1950, in Arkansas, he married Norma Jean Davis and she survives of the home.
Mr. Eldred graduated from Leeton High School at Leeton, Mo. He worked for a short time at Ferguson Chevrolet and then went to work at the Windsor International Shoe Factory where he worked in a variety of jobs, retiring after 40 years of service when the factory closed in 1985. He also had a sewing machine repair business and served the surrounding area fixing machines for many people for over 25 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, feeding his humming birds, playing pool, going to the coffee shop daily, working on the family farm and walking the trails in the timber at the farm. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his granddaughters. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Windsor.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include 2 sons, Charles Eldred and his wife Christy, and Clifford Eldred and his wife Mickey, both of Windsor, Mo.; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Trager and her husband Aaron, Hamilton, Mo.; and Alicia Jane Eldred, Windsor, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Forrest Eldred in May, 2011.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, Mo., with Rev. Doug Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home.
