UPDATE: Official Press Release about the House Fire This Morning In Adrian
At approximately 10:05 this morning, firefighters from Adrian and Butler fire departments responded to a reported house fire at 31 W 6th St in Adrian. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke conditions but they were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The structure was occupied at the time of the incident, however the occupant was not at home. The family pet did perish in the fire from apparent smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal's office, as is normal protocol, and the cause was determined to be shorted electrical wiring to a power strip in the living room of the home.
