Vernon County Woman Arrested on Theft Charges

Vernon County sheriff Jason Mosher reports the arrest of a 48-year-old Nevada woman for the alleged theft of $500.00 cash last week at Young Iron and Metal. The sheriff says video provided by the business showed a woman jumping on the counter and taking the money from the register while the attendand was outside, looking at metal in a vehicle in which the woman had been a passenger. Sheriff Mosher he and he deputy Casey Mathews believed the woman to be Valerie Slichenmyer and she was arrested at her home on N. Adams Street on a warrant sought by prosecuting attorney Lynn M. Ewing III. Slichenmyer's bond is $500.00, cash only.
