Wilma Swarens
hosted a 4th of July Picnic at her house on Sunday, July 7. Those attending were Pam, Tyler, Adam, Kayla
and Wyatt Swarens, Shane and Melissa Swarens, Bill and Cheryl Gillette, Brock,
Brett and Bree Turner, Patti Olmstead, Michael McCully, Cheryl Ann and
Samantha. Adam and Kayla Swarens
celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary on July 4.
A host of family
and friends attended the annual cookout at the home of Everett and Karen Irwin
on the evening of July 4. Lots of
delicious food, visiting, oohs and aahs were enjoyed as the fireworks went off.
Jim and Rita
Maynard were surprised Sunday, July 14 with an 80th birthday party
for both of them. A cook out and
birthday cake were enjoyed by several at the Hume Legion Hall. The party was hosted by Jim Maynard’s family.
Don’t forget the
Hume Fair July 30 through August 3 is right around the corner. A conditioner was installed in the Legion
Hall this past week, hoping to make a cool place for people during the fair to
get out of the heat for a little while.
A new sidewalk is being poured from the Legion Hall to the arena grounds
making it easier to get to. Also the
benches have been installed in the park.
A lot of activities are going on getting ready for the 71st
Annual Hume Fair and Rodeo. Hope to see
