An Adrian resident was taken to Research Medical Center after a motor vehicle mishap near Adrian Tuesday night. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers along with Bates County Sheriffs Deparment responded to the accident around 9:15 p.m. on State Highway 18, 1 mile North of route Z around 5 miles East of Adrian.
The accident occured when the Eastbound 2011 Ford Focus driven by 65-year-old Sami Bartel hit a calf that was in the roadway. Bartel was wearing a seatbelt, The vehicle recieved extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Adrian Tire. Ms. Bartel was listed with moderate injuries.
