The Bates County People 4
People Coalition meeting was held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at
11:30 a.m. at the Bates County Health Center.
Present: Deborah Kirk,
Vicki Kershner, Jody Welston
Following a discussion
regarding the lack of response from the high importance email sent
out to all individuals who previously attended a coalition meeting as
well as an article in the local paper, it was unanimously decided
that the Bates County People 4 People Coalition will formally disband
due to lack of participation.
Deborah
Kirk will ensure that any remaining funds from the $5000.00
mini-grant from ACT-Missouri are returned as Pathways was the entity
that held these funds for the coalition. Jennifer Schaller advised
Vicki Kershner that there was also $151.00 from a fundraising event
that has never been used. According to the by-laws, any holdings are
to be donated to a non-profit purpose within the territory of Bates
County People 4 People, as agreed upon by a majority of the remaining
members. Those present agreed that these funds should go to the
Christmas for Kids project which was one of the projects the
coalition sponsored in 2012. Vicki Kershner will ensure that these
funds are received from Jennifer and held at West Central Community
Action Agency and will be used as indicated.
It is with deep regret
that this coalition was not supported and was forced to disband.
