Fire in Clinton Sunday
On Sunday October 13th at 10:45 PM the Clinton fire department responded to a structure fire at 327 North Washington. Upon arrival heavy fire was coming from the home and firefighters were unable to determine if the house was occupied. The fire was knocked down by the first arriving crew who searched the house for any possible victims. The search determined that the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. In total 18 Clinton firefighters and 2 apparatus responded to the three alarm structure fire along with Clinton police department, and Golden Valley ambulance assisting.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes of arrival and considered fully extinguished around 1 AM. The estimated total loss was $20,000 for the structure and $5,000 for the contents. The exact cause of the fire was unable to be determined due to the damage, however it is believed to be related to the use of candles for lighting.
