Vernon County Sheriff's Office Press Release: Another Arrest In Richards

Photo: Another arrest was made in Richards today after a foot pursuit with Sheriffs Deputies. Jonathan Howard was wanted for a felony warrant of fraudulent use of a credit card, and a misdemeanor warrant for receiving stolen property. Howard took off on foot into a field when he saw the Sheriff's Vehicles pulling up. Howard ran into some woods but was found hiding in some bushes about an hour later. Howard is being held in the Vernon County Jail with no bond.

Vernon County sheriff Jason Mosher Monday announced the second arrest of a fugitive in recent days at an undisclosed address in the Richards area. The sheriff identified the suspect as 26-year-old Jonathan S. Howard on warrants alleging the fraudulent use of a credit/debit device and receiving stolen property. Mosher said officers saw Howard in the backyard of a residence when they arrived and he ran into some nearby woods. More deputies were called to the scene and found the fugitive's hiding place about an hour later. The sheriff also said officers found what they believe to be methamphetamines near where Howard was standing when they arrived and he was booked at the county jail in Nevada on a no-bond warrant with additional charges possible.
