News Release for Nov. 12-19, 2013

St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler reported during the week of Nov. 12-19 deputies took reports of firearms and medication being stolen and also trespassing. One individual was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.  

Pistol reported stolen 
On Monday, Nov. 18, a deputy took a stealing report from David Foley, Collins. Foley reported a .25 caliber pistol missing from a residence he was living at on SE 550 Road, Collins. Foley stated he noticed the pistol was missing on Nov. 16 when he was moving. He signed a request for prosecution.

Rifle reported stolen
 On Sunday, Nov. 17, a deputy took a stealing report from William Adrian, Osceola. Adrian reported he was visiting a friend on NE 364 Road, Osceola, and a Remington Model 511 Sportmaster .22 caliber rifle was stolen from his vehicle. The rifle had a Weaver model 329 scope attached to it. Fingerprints were obtained from the vehicle’s door and door handle. The investigation is continuing.

Trespassing
On Saturday, Nov. 16, a deputy responded to property owned by Gary Scott east of SW 1251 Road and SW 276 Road in reference to trespassing. Scott reported he found an individual sitting in a vehicle on his property. Scott signed a request for prosecution and noted a large tree was cut to gain entry onto his property. Admissions were allegedly made by the individual to trespassing on Scott’s property and also to cutting the tree. Formal charges are pending.

Medication stolen
On Friday, Nov. 15, a deputy responded to Krebb's Mobile Home Park on NE 1076, Lowry City, in reference to stealing. George Henderson explained he recently returned home from a stay in the hospital and two individuals, a man and a woman, asked if they could do anything for him. Henderson explained he paid the female $20 to mop his floors and make him some coffee. He said after the individuals left, he laid down on the couch and fell asleep. When he awoke he went to take his medication and his bottle of Valium was missing. He also stated his wallet was not sitting on the coffee table where he left it. Henderson signed a request for prosecution. The investigation is continuing.

Warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Kara Hinkle, 22, Paola, Kan., was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for a misdemeanor charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 20-25 miles per hour. The charge stemmed from an incident on May 27. Bond was set at $264 cash only. Bond was posted and she was released on Nov. 13.
