New Phone Scam Making Rounds In Southern Missouri
We've received information from Empire District Electric Company in Joplin and Southern Missouri that a
subject is calling and representing themselves as an Empire employee.
And they're contacting businesses and telling them that they need to
make a payment to them or their electricity will be shut off."
if you get a call that sounds suspicious, hang up and
call the utility or company mentioned by the caller. If you've received a
call regarding this type of activity and made a payment, call your
local police and file a report.
