Weather Update: Two Wintry Systems Ahead
We will see well above normal temperatures Wednesday into Thursday, but
another arctic front is expected to move through the region Thursday
night. This front will quickly plunge temperatures back below freezing.
There should also be a period of time when a light wintry mix of snow,
sleet and freezing rain or freezing drizzle can be expected late
Thursday night or early Friday morning. This could potentially impact
the morning commute creating slick driving conditions. Remember
last Friday morning? A second wintry system still looks to affect the
area this weekend. A lot will depend on the actual track of the low
pressure area (depicted as a red L in the graphic). A track further
north would bring a better chance for snow to eastern Kansas and
northwestern Missouri. A track farther south would leave eastern Kansas
and northwestern Missouri dry. For those of you who will be traveling
this weekend, stay tuned.
