Rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow are all in
the forecast tomorrow. How much snow and ice you see depends on where
you live. We still expect the highest snow accumulations to be across
central and northeast Missouri into Illinois, while
areas further west may see a thin glazing of ice Friday morning (any
ice will be short-lived as temperatures should quickly warm above
freezing Friday afternoon).
Please keep in mind that our
forecast confidence with this system is quite a bit lower than with
other winter storms. A change in temperature of just 2 degrees could
mean the difference between all rain or 5 inches of snow for any given
location. On top of that models are struggling to come together on
where the heaviest precipitation will fall.
Given all the data
we have available, here is what we think is the most likely outcome
tomorrow. These amounts may be adjusted upward or downward as more data
arrives today.
