WEATHER FOR BATES COUNTY AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES... ...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 9AM FRIDAY THROUGH 9 AM SATURDAY... .A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IS STILL EXPECTED TO SET UP ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI FRIDAY NIGHT...LASTING THROUGH AT LEAST MIDNIGHT BEFORE GRADUALLY DIMINISHING AND MOVING OUT OF THE AREA EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR SNOW ACCUMULATION RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR WITHIN THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS FRIDAY NIGHT. AREAS WITH THE BEST CHANCE FOR ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 AND HIGHWAY 71. LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE WEST OF THAT LINE. A PERIOD OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY PRECEDE THE THE SNOW EVENT ON FRIDAY...WITH A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE POSSIBLE DURING THE MORNING HOURS ON FRIDAY. THE TIMING FOR THE FREEZING DRIZZLE OR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN MAY OCCUR EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...TRANSITIONING TO RAIN BY LATE FRIDAY MORNING. A CHANGE OVER TO SNOW WILL LIKELY TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 6 PM AND 9 PM. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL LIKELY END BY MIDNIGHT FRIDAY NIGHT. LIGHT SNOW WILL END EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. * SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE.
