Henry County Press Release: Several arrest made in Calhoun

David Vanlue

James Christian Moore

Tommy Peek

According to Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, Cpl Aaron Brown, Deputies Chase Jackson, Brady Graham and Derrik Foreman arrested Tommy Peek, 27, at a family residence in Calhoun on January 21, 2014 at 5:42 p.m.

Peek had been the focus of the Sheriff’s Office for several weeks as he was being sought on a warrant for probation violation and had fled from authorities on several occasions.  Peek’s probation violation warrant had been outstanding for some time as authorities in several jurisdictions were seeking to arrest him.  Family members of Peek had been encouraged to convince Peek to surrender to authorities to reduce his continued threat to the community for resisting arrest by flight.

Two other persons were arrested at the residence during the apprehension of Peek.  David Vanlue, age 25 of Kansas City was arrested on a felony warrant from St. Clair County, Missouri for larceny and a 24 hour investigative hold for felony possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to obey a lawful order and obstructing a criminal investigation by providing false information about his identity.

James Christian Moore, age 28, Calhoun was arrested on a 24 hour investigative hold for stealing.

“We are glad that Tommy Peek is in custody.  Over the past several weeks he has eluded law enforcement officers on several occasions by fleeing at high rates of speed in a motor vehicle.  Peek was destined to hurt someone to avoid being arrested.  Cpl. Brown organized a successful operation that got Peek into custody without any further incidents.  I am very proud of the work that has been done here”, Sheriff Oberkrom said.
