One person died in a one-vehicle accident on Jan. 13 in Johnson County on County Road SE 651 north of 748 SE 651.
Michael J. Fagan, 31, Warrensburg, not wearing a seat belt, was northbound in a 1996 Dodge. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and then off a bridge. Subsequently, the vehicle traveled into a creek and struck an embankment before overturning.
A passenger, Matthew J. Headley, 28, Warrensburg, not wearing a seat belt, had fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner C.L. Holdren.
The Fagan vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Don’s Towing. Michael J. Fagan did not have drivers insurance.
Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper J.J. Crump investigated the accident and was assisted by Sergeant J.M. Toal, Sgt. H.A. Sears, Trooper B.R. Peters and Johnson County Sheriff’s Department Deputies.
