Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher announced this week that
Sergeant Dave Johnson has been promoted to Detective. According to the Sheriff,
a detective spot became available after Lieutenant John Randall assumed command
of the road deputies as Patrol Lieutenant. Mosher said Deputy Johnson started working
for the Sheriff’s Office in January of 2010. Johnson worked in the Jail before
being promoted to road deputy. Mosher said Deputy Johnson was promoted to road
sergeant in the spring of 2013 and “has been doing an excellent job.” Johnson
had been recognized recently for perfect attendance and his willingness to come
in on his days off when needed. Johnson also worked for the Barton County
Sheriff’s Office for a short time. Mosher said Johnson has taken training
involving crime scene investigation, death investigation, interviewing sexual
assault victims as well as other investigative training. Detective Johnson said
he was looking forward to serving the citizens of Vernon County in his new
position.
