| Around 8pm last night the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Appleton City Police Department and Henry County Sheriff's Deputies all responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on Highway 52 just East of Appleton City. The accident occurred when the 1997 Ford F-350 truck driven by 76 year old Merlin D. Wharton of Appleton City, Missouri was traveling Westbound on MO 52 Highway drifted off the right side of the roadway and the driver lost control. The truck returned to the road sliding out of control and began overturning. The vehicle struck a barbed wire fence and came to rest on its wheels facing East. The driver was transported by ambulance to Ellett Hospital in Appleton City with minor injuries. The vehicle totaled and towed from the scene by Cross Tow of Appleton City. |
