MoDOT/Southwest Winter Travel Advisory: Wednesday Night into Thursday, February 5-6‏

MoDOT/Southwest Winter Travel Advisory:
Wednesday Night into Thursday, February 5-6
Extremely cold temperatures and blowing snow will hamper efforts to clear roads overnight Wednesday into Thursday.  Slick conditions will exist in areas through Thursday.
Weather Forecast: Temperatures in the single digits along with gusty winds will continue Wednesday evening into Thursday.  Snow flurries will be possible on Thursday with highs in the teens.
Road Clearing: MoDOT crews will continue working to clear major roads.  However, extreme cold temperatures and blowing snow will cause roads to remain partly covered to covered in some areas.
Crews will plow lesser-traveled roads as time allows. They also will treat hills, curves and intersections with abrasives.  Lesser-traveled roads will not be cleared.
Travel Conditions: While road conditions did improve somewhat on Wednesday, road conditions are not expected to improve Wednesday night into Thursday due to extremely cold temperatures and blowing snow.  Drivers are urged to slow down, drive according to conditions and allow extra travel time to their destinations.
