Butler,
Mo. – The grass will be growing soon and area forage producers will be working
to make the most of this valuable livestock feed source. Nutrient and economic management of hay
depends on many factors. The Univerisity
of Missouri Extension is providing a hay production workshop in Butler, MO, to
ease these hay management decisions. Three area Extension Specialists are
covering hay economics, production, and utilization and feeding.

Mark Jenner is a new MU Extension agricultural specialist in Bates
County with his expertise in management and economics. Attendees will also get the latest
information from veteran area specialists, Travis Harper and David Hoffman.
The hay workshop will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday,
February 21, 2014, in Robertson Hall at the Bates County Museum, 802 Elks
Drive, Butler, MO. Early-bird
registration for this workshop is $15 person by Wednesday, February 19th. After the 19th, registration will
be $20 per person.
