According
to Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, Fire Departments from around the county have been
responding to several natural cover fires that appear to have been set on
purpose. Areas Northwest and Southeast
of Clinton have been targeted in the past two weeks and several fires were
reported in the Windsor and Calhoun areas last night.
If
anyone has information about these fires, they are encourage to call the
Sheriff’s Office TIPS Hotline at 1-800-825-8477 or the Missouri State Fire
Marshal hotline at 1-800-392-7766.
Additionally,
if anyone sees a suspicious person or vehicle in their area, they are
encouraged to call 911 and report the activity to local law enforcement.
