Funeral services for Della Luckan will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6 – 8 PM at Mullinax Funeral Home. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Butler. Della Mae (Mager) Luckan, 81 of Butler, Missouri passed away March 15, 2014 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. She was born December 9, 1932 to Fred and Marie (Spawn) Mager near Amoret, Missouri.
Della grew up in that area and attended Mulberry grade school and Amoret High School. After graduating she married Raymond Luckan and they lived near Butler until moving into Butler in 1971. Della worked in housekeeping at the hospital in Butler for 12 years, and then began babysitting. Over the years, she cared for 40 children. She dearly loved that job.
Della accepted Christ in 1965 and was baptized, becoming a member of the First Baptist Church in Butler, which she attended as long as her health permitted. She lost her loving husband Raymond in March of 2006.
Della was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a niece, Julie. She is survived by her son, Michael Luckan; her brother, Herman Mager and wife Zella; her sister, Emma Meade and husband Bill; two grandchildren, Paula Luckan and friend Teri, and Travis Luckan and wife Valerie; and five great-grandchildren: Jonathan Wilson, Bryce Wilson, Alix McKinney, Kaitlin Luckan, and Kristin Luckan. She also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Norman Luckan and wife Barbara; and sisters-in-law Wilma Luckan, and Minnie Butler and husband Virgil; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
