Several local Fire Departments including Adrian,Butler, Amsterdam, and Amoret are battling out of control grass fires this evening. Several small "Controlled" burns have gotten out of control. Just as a reminder Bates County is in a burn ban due to the dry weather. Bates County Sheriff Deputies along with Linn County Kansas Sheriff Deputies are on the scene of a large out of control grass fire on State line road South of Amoret at this hour. The fire that is in the pictures above was North of Virgina and was a controlled burn. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.
