Snow? Snow? You wanna talk about snow? Well, sadly we have to talk about snow tonight. Right now, a powerful cold front is moving through the region, bringing an end to the 70s and even 80s across the region. This front will move through the area this evening and winds will substantially increase from the north and northeast. How fast will those winds be? Well we could have gusts upwards of ...40 to 50 mph!
Unfortunately a few questions remain about how fast rain will transition to snow this evening, but it does look like areas of northern Missouri, especially from Chillicothe to Kirksville, have a chance for multiple inches of snow by Wednesday morning. We could also see a bit of THUNDERSNOW with this system, which could enhance those snow rates even further. The good news is that this system will quickly move east overnight, and Wednesday will be dry. Temperatures will however run nearly 40 degrees colder than they were today. Yuck!
