Weather Update: More Ups and Downs

The Temperatures will get a significant boost today, with most locations seeing temperatures some 10 to 15 degrees above seasonal averages. Today will likely mark only the 4th time Kansas City has reached 60 degrees this year. The warmth will be short-lived however as a cold front pushes through the area overnight, ahead of a strengthening upper level disturbance. This feature will bring some spotty l...ight freezing drizzle to the region late tonight and early Saturday, with more substantial precipitation developing late Saturday morning into the early afternoon hours across portions of central and southwest Missouri. This precipitation will likely come as a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow...with some areas well south of Kansas City perhaps picking up an inch of slushy accumulation. Saturday's highs will be more than 20 degrees colder than today in many areas. The roller coaster continues, with much warmer temperatures returning for early next week. Expect highs well into the 60s on Monday.
