The accident occurred when the Southbound 2002 Pontiac driven by 61 year old Barbara J. Mead of Kansas City, Missouri was cut off by a dark colored unknown vehicle. When she swerved to miss the vehicle she over corrected and was then struck by a 2002 Dodge Ram driven by Larry C. Murray 50 years old of Butler, Missouri.
The Pontiac then skidded off the roadway and struck a ditch, Barbara Mead received serious injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital by ambulance. Both of the vehicles received moderate damages and was both towed from the scene. Mr. Murray wasn't injured in this accident and everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
