Graveside funeral services for Edward Bowden, Jr., will be 3:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, Missouri with Chaplain Steve Knoll officiating. Edward “Ed” Harrison Bowden, Jr., 71 of Butler, Missouri passed away April 14, 2014 at his home in Butler. He was born March 13, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of Edward H. (Sr.) and Laverne (Ridgeway) Bowden.
Edward had served in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage to wife Linda for 52 years. In his thirties, Edward attended the Tulsa Junior College, where he studied criminal law. He had worked for U.S. Steel following his return from the Navy. In his later years, he worked in the prosecutor’s office in Kansas City. In his spare time, Edward enjoyed target shooting and camping.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bowden of Butler; son Stephen, daughter Vicki; grandchildren Nicholas and Leann; and great-grandchildren Laytin and Jena; as well as one sister, Delores, and brother, Danny.
