Marvin Delbert Seider, 86, son of Clarence Albert and Hulda Louise (Fischer) Seider, was born January 27, 1928 at home on the family farm in Bates County, Missouri. He passed away peacefully April 12, 2014 in Appleton City, Missouri.

In his youth, Marvin attended Bever Grade School and Rockville High School. He was united in marriage to Arleta Mae Hellwig in May of 1950 and to this union two sons were born. Marvin’s entire life was spent farming in Prairie City. He was never happier than when he was in the field. It amazed him how farming had changed through the years from driving a team of mules to today’s farming with modern equipment complete with “auto steer” so they could work after dark. Marvin always said that he never got anything new that wasn’t better than the old equipment he got rid of.

Marvin was baptized in 1928 and confirmed in 1940 into Prairie City Zion Lutheran Church at an early age and was a faithful member attending regularly until his health failed.   Throughout his life he enjoyed singing in the choir and served in many capacities, holding various offices within the church.

Preceding Marvin in death were his parents and his wife. Survivors include his loving and faithful sister, Darline Fischer; two sons, Wayne Seider (Deborah) and and Larry Seider; two granddaughters, Stacey Lawson and Whitney Mott (Cole); one grandson, Brian Seider (Laci); six great-grandchildren: Maylen and Reece Lawson, Cooper and Caydo Mott, Bo and Audree Grace Seider; nephews, cousins and many friends.
