St. Clair County Sheriff's Office: Stealing reports taken



Scrap reported stolen from property on V Highway

On April 15, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to property on SE V Highway in reference to a stealing. Jack Foster reported an individual in a Dodge Dakota truck pulling a small trailer was seen stealing scrap from his property. Evidence was located at the scene and the investigation discovered the suspect vehicle was located at Meredith Recycling, Montrose. Contact was made with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy was dispatched to the location to stop and hold the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with two male subjects in the vehicle. Items were recovered, identified and released to Foster. Formal charges on the two subjects are pending.


Firearm reported stolen

On Tuesday, April 15, Stephen Johnson, NE 1270 Private Road, Deepwater, reported a firearm was stolen from a compartment on his four wheel drive utility vehicle. Johnson described the gun as a Springfield Armory model 1911 .45 caliber ACP semi-automatic pistol. He noted the utility vehicle is kept in a secured area when not in use.
