Nevada Woman Killed In Motorcycle Accident Yesterday

A Nevada woman was killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle-car collision on 54 highway just West of Nevada. The Missouri Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Leonette Hammontree was pronounced dead at the scene. Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Leemasters' report says the collision happened about ten minutes before 4:00 p.m. when a South-bound Ford Mustang, driven by 17-year-old Jesse Claypool, Richards, failed to yield after stopping and pulled into the path of the West-bound Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Hammontree. Claypool was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
