Deputies from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office made a visit to the Life House Daycare Center in Nevada Tuesday morning for some fun education with the kids. Deputy Jaylen Rosier spoke to the children about the importance of seatbelt safety and the roles in general of a Sheriff’s Deputy. “When I asked what a deputy does, all of the kids knew we catch bad guys, but we want them to know we are their friends and they can come to us for help” said Rosier. After a short classroom session, the children were taken outside where they were allowed to set inside of a patrol car, turn on the lights and even hear a “radio check” with dispatch over the cruisers police radio.
Sheriff Jason Mosher said having his office participate in events with children is one of the most valuable things they can do “we want to help make a positive influence with the children in our community and let them know were here to help them.” The Sheriff said Deputy Rosier is assigned cases that involve female victims of domestic violence and also helps with children’s events like this one along with her other duties.
