Lamar Teenager killed in vehicle-pedestrian mishap

A Lamar teenager was killed late Saturday in a vehicle-pedestrian mishap on I-49 one mile North of Lamar. The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as 17-year-old Cody W Scheetz and arrangements are pending at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar. Highway Patrol trooper Jason Krehbiel says it happened about 11:00 p.m. when Scheetz tried to cross the interstate and was hit by a North-bound Freightliner operated by 73-year-old Raynaldo Diaz, Winter Haven, Florida.
