Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Swain will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Pitman Funeral Home under the direction of the Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville, Missouri. (Pitman Funeral Home website). Visitation will be prior to the services from 2 - 4 p.m at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiloh Methodist Church in Foristell, The Outpost Church of St. Charles or Hospice West in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
Robert William Swain passed away on June 17, 2014 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Alma Swain nee Dukes of Foristell, Missouri; He is survived by his son, Bob (Diann) Swain of Winfield, MO; two daughters: Carmen (Mark) Slivinski of St. Peters, MO and Camille (Rick) Hayden of Lebanon, IL; brother, Don (Darla) Swain of Kansas City, MO; sister, Margaret McLaughlin of Butler, MO; seven grandchildren: Bobby, Jackie, Jessica, Brooke, Alan, Ricky and Autumn; one great-grandchild, Jameson and two on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Philip and Doris Swain nee Taylor and sister, Rose Herchen. Mr. Swain was an active volunteer with the Wright City School District and the Museum of Transportation. He played basketball in high school and on a recreational team. He enjoyed bluegrass jam sessions, traveling, golf, reading and working on radios. Bob also enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family. Bob and Alma were married on September 22, 1962, they were married 51 years. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
