St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Second arrest made in theft/stealing case in Collins

Brandon Burton

On Wednesday, June 18, Brandon Burton, 30, Weaubleau, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of theft/stealing-value is $500 or more but less than $25,000. The charge stems from an investigation that started on June 13 when a St. Clair County deputy was on routine patrol near Collins. The deputy observed a stranded motorist pulled in a driveway alongside Highway 54, across the road from Mike's Wrecker Service. The deputy stopped to assist and two people, Burton and William Dane, 44, Flemington, were identified. The registration information from the vehicle was obtained and the deputy cleared the scene and continued patrolling. A follow up investigation by the deputy revealed evidence a stealing had occurred.
