Bates County Sheriffs Office: DFS call leads to arrest

On July 14th 2014 Bates County Deputies met DFS at 13267 NW Elm street in Amsterdam. The purpose of the visit was to investigate allegation of child endangerment due to illegal narcotics allegedly being in the residence.

During the investigation a search of the residence was conducted, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located. The illegal narcotics were collected as evidence.

Melissa Mae Lane was arrested. A warrant was issued on her for Possession of a controlled substance/Methamphetamine a Class C Felony and a bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
