- Nevada police officers investigated a domestic assault and two
vehicle tampering incidents over the Fourth of July weekend. Sgt. Steve
Bastow says one vehicle tampering incident was reported Thursday by the
owner of a 1998 model truck who told officers a mechanic told him paint
had been put in the vehicle fuel tank sometime between June 17 and June
24. The other vehicle tampering was reported about 11:00 p.m. Friday
night in the 1400 block of East Austin Boulevard. A witness told
officers a suspect fled the scene on foot and officers are looking for a
20-year-old Nevada man for questioning. The domestic assault was
reported about 2:45 p.m. Friday afternoon when a woman told police her
boy-friend threatened her with a knife in the 300 block of South West
Street. Officers arrested a suspect but his name has not been released,
pending the formal filing of charges.
