Nevada Police Department: investigated a pair of assaults
Nevada police officers investigated a pair of assaults on W. Hickory
Street last Friday. Sgt. Steve Bastow says a 25-year-old woman told
police she was grabbed by the neck and thrown to the floor of a home in
the 300 block of W. Hickory about 3:40 p.m. Friday. Police arrested a
29-year-old male suspect and have applied for a warrant. The other
assault occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1600
block of W. Hickory. Sgt. Bastow says officers were told a woman had
taken her husband's vehicle from his work-place in Kansas and, when the
husband arrived at the home to retrieve personal property from the
vehicle, he was attacked by a 31-year-old man. The husband fled the home
in the 1600 block of W. Hickory to the Nevada Police Department, 120 S.
Ash, and was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center, by ambulance, for
treatment. Sgt. Bastow says that investigation continues.
