Cynthia Kay Smith, 68, Harrisonville, Missouri, died
Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Cass Regional Medical Center in
Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday,
August 22 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation
from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Cynthia was born June 29, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter
of Raymond Reuben and Mary (Hayes) Stephens. She was a 1964 graduate of
Harrisonville High School. Cynthia was united in marriage to Wayne
Smith on February 14, 1970 in Harrisonville, officiated by Pastor David
Zeller. She was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. She had worked
for AT&T in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for 18 years, House of Lloyd in
Grandview and Wal-Mart in Harrisonville. She was preceded in death by
her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of the home; seven sons, Terry
Smith, Belton, Missouri, Gene Smith, Creighton, Missouri, Shawn Smith,
Raymore, Missouri, Don Smith, Archie, Missouri, Raymond Gilbert and Jay
Smith, both of Archie, Missouri and Chad Smith, Harrisonville; 18
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
