Vernon County Sheriffs Office:Traffic stop in Milo leads to recovery of stolen property

Stolen vehicle and property recovered in Milo
Over $3,200 in stolen property was recovered during a traffic stop in Milo Friday afternoon. According to a press release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a truck in Milo when they noticed a wanted person driving in a Dodge Pickup. The driver, who has been identified as 26 year old Christopher Jones of Nevada, was arrested on multiple misdemeanor warrants. During the traffic stop deputies found what they believed to be stolen tires and rims on the pickup that had been reported missing from another jurisdiction just last week.

The Sheriff declined to comment if Jones was the suspect of the theft, but said he was glad his office was able to return someone’s stolen property to them. “Stolen property is hard to track down, so it is always nice when we can return items to the owner,” said Sheriff Jason Mosher. Jones was being held in the Vernon County Jail Friday on a $1000 bond.
