September not only brings the start of cooler weather but it's also associated with a secondary peak of higher rainfall. So, we're now looking at a stormy period through Saturday as a couple of disturbances aloft plus a cold front and possibly the remnants of Hurricane Odile bring several chances for showers and storms. The first chance arrives after midnight tonight and could last through Wednesday morning....mainly affecting eastern KS and west central MO. May hear a few pings on your windows from some hail up to half an inch in diameter.
The next chance arrives Wednesday night and lasts into early Thursday morning. These storms should be a little more widespread with the heavier rains closer to the MO/KS state line.
The third and final round.....ding....ding....ding, will threaten the entire region with showers and thunderstorms as a cold front sweeps in from the northwest. The remnants of Hurricane Odile could affect us but will most likely remain over southern KS and Oklahoma where heavy rains are possible.
