Miami R-1 Collects Food For Halloween

The Miami R-1 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America sponsored a Halloween dress-up contest. Each student or staff contestant donated three non-perishable food items to the FCCLA. 369 food items were collected throughout the school. Two winners from high school and two winners from elementary were drawn each hour from the participants. They received chocolate sundaes as their prizes.

Shyla Fritts, Brooklyn Popplewell, Danni Masters, Josh Blomquist, and Easton Elkinton were the organizing FCCLA committee. They collected food, registered students and staff, and delivered prizes. All collected food items will be donated to the Bates County Food Pantry. The Miami students had a good time with the contest and helping the food pantry.
