What is it?

This is one of the items on display at the annual Bates County Museum Show and Tell program this morning.

Made of leather and steel, many of those present took some interesting guesses of it's identity- some followed with giggles...

The actual use of this device might surprise you.

Take a guess on our Facebook page over the weekend...if no one gets it right, we'll reveal what the item was actually used for Sunday evening.

Update- One Facebook guesser, Clint Mellenbruch guess it to be mule blinders- which is nearly spot on. This
particular set was slightly larger and used for bulls. Designed so the bull will only see the ground, thus not easily getting 'spooked' when being moved in unfamiliar territory.
