If you've been putting off any outdoor work (it's OK to admit you're a procrastinator as you're among friends) or have an outdoor activity you've been wanting to do, you'll have today and most of Friday to take care of them.
A large storm system, see the accompanying satellite picture (the red "L" is the center of the storm), will eventually lug its junk INto Kansas and Missouri over the next 2-3 days. As it gets closer we'll see our rain chances ratchet up. By Friday night the first round of showers and thunderstorms should at least reach western Missouri and far eastern Kansas. Saturday, well let's just say you're likely get wet as one or two rounds of showers and storms make their way through the region. We're also expecting some generous rainfall with some areas likely picking up over an inch of rain by Saturday night.
While the threat for severe thunderstorms looks very low some strong storms are possible Friday evening over parts of far western Missouri and eastern Kansas.
