At approximately 2:53 pm, Adrian Fire Department was dispatched on a grain elevator fire in Adrian at the corner of sixth & West Lexington Street. At 2:54 pm, upon arrival of the first Adrian Fire unit, the grain elevator was reported to be fully involved.
Butler Fire Department responded a ladder truck on automatic mutual aid. As a safety precaution the railroad was contacted and asked to stop all rail traffic until the scene could be placed under control. The fire is believed to be accidental in nature and all fire units cleared at 4:57 pm.The Adrian Fire Department extends our sincere thanks to all law enforcement agencies for responding and taking such quick action on controlling all traffic and allowing clear access for the additional incoming fire units.
