Vernon County Jail teams up with Nevada Housing Authority for volunteer work
This week the Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Nevada Housing Authority to help perform some needed repairs and maintenance. Inmates from the Vernon County jail were taken out Friday to trim branches and clean up brush and flower beds. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said teaming up with the Housing Authority gives the inmates a chance to make a positive impact on the community they will be living in when they are released. “Having the opportunity to help a greater cause and make a positive difference in your community is a valuable opportunity for those in our jail” said Mosher. The Sheriff said this was a very successful day and he plans to continue working with the Housing Authority in the future.
