Five Vernon County residents escaped serious injury in a two vehicle accident Tuesday evening in Vernon County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 9:45 P.M. Tuesday evening on US 54, 4 miles West of El Dorado Springs, in Vernon County.
The accident was involving a 2005 Nissan Sentra driven by 57 year old Cheryl Smith, of Nevada. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says, Smith was traveling Eastbound when she was stopped for a pedestrian crossing the roadway and was struck in the rear by a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by 17 year old Lorissa Jester, of Milo.
Smith was listed with minor injuries and transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center. Jester was listed with no injuries. Three passengers in Smith's vehicle, 59 year old Donald Creamer, 35 year old Teleacia Creamer, and 21 year old Jeramy Dukes, all of Nevada, were all listed with minor injuries and transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center.
